Lego Gear Wheels
The Lego Gear Wheels were highly modified round Lego plates
with holes between the studs, a cross axle hole in the center and large teeth
around the edge. The gears had an insert attached to the back (shown on the
blue gear) which held in place a small annular spring. These gear wheels were
used in a number of sets in the 1970s,
such as the European 800 and 810 series as well as several Hobby Sets.
They were part of a pre-technic system which included gears,
cross axles and connectors. |
