Weetabix Promotional Lego Sets
Weetabix has a long history with Lego. Their first release in the early 1970's was a castle. In 1976, they released three town sets. With the addition of posable minifigs in 1978, they released one large town set, later adding two smaller sets. All of these sets were available by collecting coupons on the back of breakfast cereal boxes in the United Kingdom. Special thanks to Huw Millington for the original version of this page.
Castle
There is no date on the instructions at all, but I believe it
was available around 1970, possibly earlier. The instruction scans were forwarded to
me by Dave Casey. I believe this was shipped in a plain brown box. I'm still seeking
any additional information on this set, or pictures of the original box/shipping crate.
Old Town Sets
Three sets were released in 1976: a house, a windmill and a shop. These arrived
in plain white boxes with colored graphics depicting the set. The back of the box is marked: MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN ©1976 British LEGO Ltd. Each set came with first-series
minifigs with molded arms and plain, undecorated faces.
The box and set pictures are from an eBay seller. The instruction scans were
provided by Huw Upshall. I am still looking for the orginal ads or cereal boxes that
promoted these sets, as well as any additional information about them.

New Town Sets
The first Weetabix set with posable minifigs was set 1589 released in 1978. This was a variation of a common street scene that was used in several promotional sets for other companies. This set includes unique torso stickers to turn the new minifigs into town citizens.
The last sets to be released by Weetabix were set 1484 in 1987 and set 1898 in 1989.
